 MECHANICS

It is the branch of the physics study about motion ,force and   displacement and effects of the body on their environment.

physics concerned with the relationships between force, matter, and motion among physical objects.

Scalar and vector Quantities

1.Scaler quantity:-The quantity which does  not change due to variation of direction is known as scalar quantity .
ex-mass distance,time,electric current,potential,pressure etc.

2.Vector quantity:-The quantity which changes due to variation of direction is known as scaler vector quantity
ex-displacement, velocity,elecric fleld etc.

Motion
if a body is continuously changing its position with respect to a fixed point, then the body is said to be in motion.

1.Motion in one dimension

2.Motion in two and three dimensions.

       Some definition related to motion

1.       Distance-The length of total path covered by a body in any time is called distance.it is a scaler quantity it does not depend on direction.

2.       Displacement-The minimum distance between the initial and final positions of a body is called its displacement.it is a vector quantity.it depend on direction.

3.       Speed-The distance covered by a moving body in unit time is called its speed. It is a scaler quantity.

4.       Velocity-The rate of change of displacement of a body is called its velocity.it is vector quantity, it is represented by and its unit is m/s.

5.       Acceleration-Rate of change of velocity of a body is called its acceleration.it is a vector quantity .its unit is m/s2
